About the team

Merchant Solutions, within FIS, provides payment solutions to businesses of all sizes around the world, from small SMBs to the largest international companies. The SMB GTM team sits within the Merchant Solutions Strategy & GTM function. It has a global remit to drive Go-To-Market activities for the commercial teams in the US and UK. The team contributes to the strategic direction of the organisation, driving transformational change, creating new sales and training assets, helping build a partner pipeline and focusing on product growth.

What you will be doing

In this key role within the SMB GTM team, you will be working with senior stakeholders in the SMB Line of Business in the US, focusing primarily on how to grow through sales strategies and execution. You will be reporting into a Director of the SMB GTM team. Specific responsibilities range from:

  • Act as a "Go-To" Commercial and Strategic Partner for Sales GMs and Leadership; you will own and drive high-impact initiatives while managing multiple stakeholders across the business
  • Aligning with the Line of Business stakeholders on their key priorities, owning program management, synthesizing findings and presenting back to the business
  • Specifically supporting with the execution of a number of consultancy led initiatives that require integration into the Line of Business.
  • Provide ad-hoc strategic support to the Line of Business/Group where agreed; examples of this might include working with partners for distribution or capability extension initiatives, driving performance improvement initiatives (i.e. sales performance) to enable strategic objectives etc.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate will possess

  • 3-4 years in strategy consulting or a commercial role in payments or a similar field
  • Experience working in strategic projects with cross-functional teams for delivery of business initiatives
  • Change management or transformation experience
  • Advanced stakeholder management & networking skills and ability to influence across multiple levels
  • Commercially focused, with a desire to drive great outcomes for the business
  • Proactive and strategic thinker, able to look ahead to foresee issues and plan around them
  • Excellent organization skills, able to coordinate across multiple projects and stay on top of details
  • Clear, proactive communicator (both written and verbal), able to listen and work well with others while being confident and assertive where required
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, finance, engineering or information technology or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience

Added bonus if you have:

  • Experience working in the payments sector, global preferred
  • A payments industry expert with a track record in developing and managing products
