Diesel Mechanic Benefits

• Up to $32 per hour based on experience and ASE Certifications

About the Position

This First Transit location is located in Atlanta, Georgia where we operate shuttle bus services and provide vehicle maintenance for Emory University. The shift for this position is 6:00 am - 2:30 pm, Monday - Friday. As a diesel mechanic, your major responsibilities will include:

• Diagnosing and performing all phases of vehicle and equipment repair
• Ensuring vehicles are maintained and safe for our customers
• Removing and replacing engines, transmissions, and differential assemblies
• Maintaining records of all maintenance work completed on vehicles including parts and supplies used.
• Assisting with road calls and emergency services as necessary

Diesel Mechanic Qualifications

• Vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair (preferred)
• Valid driver's license; Must be able to Class B CDL with passenger endorsement within 3 months of hire
• ASE Certifications are preferred. Must participate in ASE testing program within 1 year (expected to have 3 ASEs within 12 months of hire)
• At least 1 year of diesel maintenance and repair experience (preferred) or equivalent education and experience
• Appropriate mechanic's toolset is required.
