Job Description

The Herbert Irving Comprehensive Cancer Center (HICCC) at Columbia University Irving Medical Center invites applications from investigators interested in the biology of brain tumors. We are seeking junior and mid-career investigators with a track record of exceptional accomplishments and expertise in basic and translational brain tumor research. Areas of particular interest include (but are not limited to) immunology, epigenetics, metabolism, tumor heterogeneity, tumor microenvironment, and the effects of therapy on normal brain tissue. Candidates focused on pediatric or adult brain tumor research, and with a strong interest in translating laboratory findings to the clinic, are encouraged to apply.

The HICCC () will consider candidates with a diversity of research backgrounds and will work with selected candidates to arrange appointments in the relevant Department/Division to complement their research activities. Selected candidates will be nominated for membership in the HICCC, and will have access to superb Shared Resources at discounted rates, and to a vibrant community of clinicians and scientists, including those working on cancer and other areas of research across Columbia University and affiliated institutions.


We seek faculty members with a strong commitment to research, mentoring, and teaching, fostering a climate that embraces both excellence and diversity. Doctoral degree (MD, PhD, ScD, DrPH, or equivalent) and postdoctoral training or experience preferred. Investigators should have demonstrated scientific productivity and research momentum with a trajectory towards continued impactful contribution to brain tumor research.
