Overview:

Veeco's process equipment solutions enable the manufacture of LEDs, flexible OLED displays, power electronics, hard drives, MEMS and wireless chips. We are the market leader in MOCVD, MBE, Ion Beam and other advanced thin film process technologies. Our high performance systems drive innovation in energy efficiency, consumer electronics and network storage and allow our customers to maximize productivity and achieve lower cost of ownership.

The Quality Inspectoris responsible for inspecting and/or verifying parts, electro-mechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies for adherence to specifications. Quality Inspector performs incoming inspection. The inspector will work with manufacturing engineers, as well as mechanical engineers to ensure adherence to specifications and troubleshoot issues that may arise.Parts and assemblies will be inspected to engineering drawings, purchase order, industry standards, and specifications.

Responsibilities:

  • Verify received materials conform to specifications by conducting visual and measurement tests; reject discrepant, unacceptable materials to ensure they are not assembled into product.
  • Maintain control of non-conforming material with regards to dispositioning and movements in the system.

Qualifications:

High school diploma and a minimum of 2 years of experience performing quality control (QC) is required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Candidate must have practical experience performing part inspections on machined parts, assemblies, and / or sub-assemblies. The inspections will be performed to engineering requirements specified per specifications, work instructions, or equivalent industry standard.
  • Ability to read / interpret engineering drawings and Purchase Orders (POs).
  • Skilled using various mechanical inspection tools, such as micrometers and calipers.
  • Strong communication skills, verbal & written, and ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to use computer based systems is required. Also must have proficiency using SAP, Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Local candidates only. Relocation not supported.

The expected salary range for this position is $35,261.00 - $52,000 + bonus + benefits. When determining your pay, we will consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors.
