POSITION SUMMARY

TRC is seeking licensed USEPA/NY Lead Based Paint (LBP) Inspectors and/or Risk Assessors to join our New York, NY office. This position would be working within our Building Sciences and Industrial Hygiene business within our Environmental Sector.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - TASKS

  • Perform LBP inspections utilizing X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF) technologies in public housing units within the five boroughs of NYC.
  • Perform water intrusion investigations and mold assessments.
  • Collect LBP chip samples for independent laboratory analysis.
  • Utilize mobile hand-held technologies to capture field data/information/photographs.
  • Operate and maintain instruments.
  • Collect samples as required by various regulatory agencies, complete data sheets, chain of custody forms, and prepare samples for shipment to laboratory.
  • Maintain daily logs of activities related to project work.
  • Interact and communicate with clients, contractors and regulatory agency representatives.
  • Prepare reports.
  • Travel throughout New York City expected.


Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • -1 - 10 years of experience in the hazardous building materials, indoor air quality, industrial hygiene industry.
  • Licensed USEPA/NYS Lead Inspector/Risk Assessor
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent preferred, but not required.
  • Must be able to communicate with project management team and follow instructions.
  • Prior experience in various aspects of LBP inspections is required.
  • The following certifications are a plus; NYSDOL Mold Assessor; NYCDEP Asbestos Investigator; NYSDOL Asbestos Inspector and Project Monitor;, Indoor Air Quality Training, HAZWOPER, OSHA 10, and Scaffold Training.
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to various work schedules and situations related to emergency response scenarios.
  • Intuitive and creative thinker. Understanding of their surroundings and reason the services are being provided. A consultative demeanor and ability to work with customers/clients and offers solutions when needed.
  • Work as a team player.
  • Ability to carry and climb ladders and being able to use hand and power tools.
  • Be able to wear a respirator, safety harness and other safety equipment as needed
  • Must be a reliable team player.

Compensation:

In accordance with local law, the following compensation range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition: $25 Hr -$30/Hr . Compensation will vary based on experience,education,skill level, and other compensation factors.
