Posting Summary

The Department of Psychology in the Rutgers University School of Arts and Sciences, New Brunswick, New Jersey anticipates hiring an Assistant or advanced Assistant Professor in Behavioral & Systems Neuroscience to begin September 1, 2023, subject to approval of funding. The candidate would build upon departmental strengths in behavioral processes and/or neuroplasticity related to one or more of the following areas: (1) learning, memory, and attentional processes; (2) computational modeling of neural processes; (3) affective neuroscience with a focus on emotional processing; (4) neuropharmacology and addiction. As a member of our Psychology Department, affiliations are possible with the Rutgers Center for Cognitive Science, the Center of Alcohol Studies, the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, the Center for Advanced Human Brain Imaging Research, and The Brain Health Institute. The successful candidate will be expected to develop and maintain an active, extramurally-funded research program and to participate in undergraduate and graduate teaching in areas relevant to Behavioral and Systems Neuroscience. The candidate must have a PhD in psychology, neuroscience or related field by the appointment date.
