| Posting Summary | The Department of Physics and Astronomy at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, invites applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Experimental Condensed Matter Physics, to begin September 1, 2024. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. degree (or equivalent) in Physics or a related field and have a record of research and publication. Rutgers condensed matter science has a long and distinguished history of seminal contributions in the field. The current research topics in the group include quantum materials, collective behavior of many-particle systems, the physics of surfaces, interfaces, nanostructures and thin films, organic semiconductors, and quantum information science. The group employs state of the art research techniques including advanced spectroscopies and microscopies, instrument development, and bulk and thin film synthesis. We are seeking an applicant with outstanding accomplishments and excellent future promise in a research area that broadens and/or complements the interests of the current faculty group. The successful candidate will be expected to establish an independent research program that will attract external funding, will be expected to teach physics courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and mentor Rutgers' diverse undergraduate and graduate students. Applications should include a cover letter, CV, publication list (uploaded as other document), 3-4 page statement of research accomplishments and plans, 2-3 page statement of teaching and mentoring accomplishments and plans. The applicant should arrange to have three recommendation letters submitted by the letter writers through the application portal. All materials should be submitted online via ROCS. Review of applications will begin in December 2023 and will continue until the position is filled. |
