Job Description

Summary:

At RWE Clean Energy, the Operations Controlling team is responsible for financial performance controlling, planning & reporting, portfolio analyses and target setting for the Operational Onshore Wind, Solar, and Energy Storage businesses. Working as a strategic partner and trusted advisor with the business, Operations Controlling evaluates improvement measures, actively gives recommendations/appropriate challenges, and business decision support.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Financial planning and analysis: Support timely, complete, accurate, high-quality reporting / planning / forecasting with both local business stakeholders and Central Team Controlling colleagues in Germany
  • Primary controlling lead for the Operational US Onshore Wind, Solar, and Energy Storage businesses, including monthly reporting, quarterly forecasting, mid-term planning, business cases, ad-hoc analyses, special topics, savings initiatives, and monthly performance dialogues
  • Business support: Serve as strategic partner to all business areas by supporting / challenging /measuring critical initiatives within the business groups; provide timely and insightful analysis that supports informed decision-making
  • Coordination and teamwork: Coordinate overarching strategic and commercial business topics and related financial impacts across the Controlling team, Accounting, and other Finance groups
  • Management communication: Prepare materials for and participate in meetings with Senior Management for both regular reporting activities and special projects/topics
  • Continuous process improvement: Support proactive pursuit of best practices, processes, standardization and tools that drive gains in efficiency, automation, and quality
  • Ongoing initiatives: Support company-wide top priorities and goals and special projects
  • Value enhancement: Support cost savings initiatives, EBITDA enhancement ideas and measurement, and efforts to maximize project value
  • People and communication: Support growth and development of the team and how we work together locally and globally
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in Accounting, Controlling, Financial Planning & Analysis, Financial or Management Consulting, or other Finance-related fields required
  • Renewable energy and/or management experience is a plus
  • Education: BA/BS in Finance/Accounting/Economics/Business (required); Advanced degree is a plus, but not required
  • Ability to travel: <10%
  • Language: English (fluent), German is a plus

Pay range: The annual base salary range for this position in New York is $123,211.72 - $184,817.58. The listed salary range represents our good faith estimate for this position and represents the range for new hire salaries across all U.S locations. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. RWE considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s education & work experience, training & certifications, and key skills as well as market and business considerations at the time of the offer.
