Our Northeast Region is seeking a Deputy Project Manager to be a part of the Aviation Line of Business. This individual will have an Engineering or Architecture background with airside, landside and terminal expertise. The duties associated with this position are comprehensive and include project management, business development, client contact, and directing and planning of work in a doer/seller role.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Has demonstrated experience and can assist the key managerial lead in planning/design/construction of significant aviation projects.

  • Plan, coordinate, communicate and facilitate activities of multiple disciplines on multiple projects from concept through completion.

  • Assists in managing project delivery, including scoping, budgeting, maintaining schedules, meeting budget objectives, communicating and meeting deadlines.

  • Prepares and tracks projects, ensuring delivery of projects on time and within budget.

  • Build strong client relationships and gain repeat business.

  • Maintain and expand existing business relationships in the East Region Aviation market.

  • Contributes to winning aviation terminal, airside and/or landside projects as Deputy Project Manager or key team member. Assumes the financial, staffing, scope and schedule management responsibilities of that role.

  • Mentor Engineering staff.

  • Serves as client contact. Negotiates fees and contracts; manages expectations; and assures client satisfaction related to projects.

  • Assist in the development of action plans for the Engineering group, with tactical plans for targeted pursuits. Specify and achieve target sales goals within designated marketplace.

  • Assist in developing and implementing a cross discipline and inter-business line Quality Assurance process.

  • Work closely with the Sector Manager of Northeast Aviation to evaluate and prioritize target markets.

  • Support review of contracts for compliance with TYLin policies and procedures.

  • Build a collaborative leadership among the leadership team.

  • Serve as expert team member or advisor for select projects or programs where expertise is needed.

  • Lead the proposal preparation effort for aviation projects and attend interviews, working with Regional Marketing and Technical staff.

  • As needed, lead general business development and marketing activities, including developing strategies for cultivating prospects and obtaining work, preparing proposals, and leading interview preparation and presentations.

  • Define and ensure effective execution/adherence of the overall TYLin company initiative.

  • Regularly travels to meet and interact with prospective teaming partners and clients.

  • Represent TYLin in applicable professional/business organizations, conferences, seminars, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Architecture or closely-related field.

  • Professional Engineer license in the State of New York or New Jersey is preferred.

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in the industry.

  • Track record of developing new clients, winning work, and maintaining positive client relationships.

  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet multiple deadlines.

  • Strong leadership, business acumen, and interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Well-developed negotiation, proposal and project management skills.

  • Commitment to excellence, and high standards of integrity.
