Director, Digital Marketing (eCommerce), West Elm

We are looking for a strategic leader who has experience driving repeatable and scalable results across marketing channels. This Director of Digital Marketing is responsible for developing, evaluating, and executing the marketing strategy of West Elm's growing online channel and the eCommerce marketing execution. This role is responsible for managing the digital marketing team and programs, overseeing 3+ FTEs and works with cross functional business partners including Site Merchandising, Creative and others to drive traffic, engagement, and sales growth.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Lead and drive end-to-end go to marketing plans to serve the consumer from ideation to execution in partnership with key team members across the organization.
  • Proven experience connecting brand concepts into marketing journeys that drive impact, relevance and ultimately, action across engagement and commerce.
  • Fluent/proficient in full-funnel analytics, able to harness consumer data to connect inputs to outputs across marketing channels to drive efficient & effective marketing investment decisions.
  • A consumerist with proven ability to deeply understand consumer behavior (connecting multiple data-led inputs) to zero-in on insights and opportunities that can translate into relevant marketing activities that drive personalized impact, emotional connection, engagement and action.
  • Work in a consumer-led, end-in-mind manner to determine the elements that will deliver our offering through ideas across the online to offline consumer landscape, while developing new and emerging methods, ensuring the work is inspiring, impactful, and innovative.
  • Proven experience connecting marketing activities to the consumer lifecycle, driving retention/LTV and driving digital engagement, content and narrative building.
  • Ability to analyze sales reports, channel performance, and site metrics to grow and optimize our eMarketing channels and identify opportunities for testing.
  • Ability to analyze our competitive marketplace and follow online advertising, email, and other digital trends.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • B.A. in Marketing, Business or Related field required.
  • Minimum of 8+ years of experience preferably in retail including specific marketing and online marketing experience.
  • Proven ability to innovate and lead launch of new programs and strategies.
  • 3 - 5 years of management experience.
  • Ability to strategically lead and manage a marketing team.
  • Proven analytical, business planning skills.
  • Ability to make timely decisions, anticipate problems and provide creative solutions.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and a fast-paced changing environment.
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively across functions.
