Job Description

Receives patients in MAP2 clinic in order to insure the effective delivery of service.Will work at multiple sites when needed (Derm Center, Scarsdale, Bronx East...).

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide patient/family teaching and discharge instructions to meet learning/discharged needs as identified by RN.

Able to set priorities, problem solve and use proper judgment in difficult situations and be flexible in non-emergent situations.
Provides and maintains safe environment for patients/families through preventive and interventional measures.

Documents direct patient care as per MMC policies and procedures.

Participates, practices and promotes continuous quality improvement.

Communicates effectively with patients/families and members of the health care team.

Responsible and accountable for following MMC guidelines.

Sterilize instruments and equipment using the autoclave.

Order and maintain medications and supplies to par level for site/s. Ensure exam rooms are appropriately, cleaned and stocked each session and between patients.

Collect and properly label specimens as per MMC policy. Maintain specimen(blood,biopsy) logbooks and report abnormal results to MD.

Greet and direct patients to exam room.

Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • NYS LPN License and current registration to practice
  • Minimum 1 year work experience
  • Basic Life Support.
  • Centrifuge,EKG Machine, sterilization process and/or Autoclave Machine where applicable.
  • Misc. Dermatology Surgical Equipment where applies.
  • Allergy Equipments where applicable.
  • Effective English communication skills, written, oral and interpersonal.
  • Ability to use basic data entry and retrieval system.
  • Additional education required by specialty areas/patient care locations.
