Job Summary
The Cloud Engineer II is an experienced professional responsible for advanced cloud infrastructure design, configuration, and optimization. They work closely with development and operations teams to enhance cloud-based applications and implement automation for efficiency. This role involves mentoring junior engineers and providing expertise in complex cloud projects.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Implement scalable and highly available cloud solutions.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IAC) using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize resource utilization and cost management.
- Improve security practices and compliance within cloud environments.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior cloud engineers.
- Troubleshoot and resolve cloud-related issues and incidents.
Qualifications
- In-depth knowledge of multiple cloud platforms and services.
- Proven experience with infrastructure as code (IAC) and automation tools.
- Strong scripting and coding skills (e.g., Python, PowerShell).
- Ability to design and implement complex cloud solutions.
- Excellent understanding of networking, security, and compliance in the cloud.
- Leadership and mentoring capabilities.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent experience
- 2+ years' of relatable experience.
- Successful completion of multiple cloud projects.
License & Credentials
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate or equivalent (e.g., Azure Administrator Associate, Google Cloud Associate Cloud Engineer) required
Systems & Technology
- Strong expertise in multiple cloud platforms and services.
- Proficiency in infrastructure as code (IAC) and automation tools.
- Advanced scripting and coding skills.
- Experience with network design and security in the cloud.
- Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
