Job Summary

The Cloud Engineer II is an experienced professional responsible for advanced cloud infrastructure design, configuration, and optimization. They work closely with development and operations teams to enhance cloud-based applications and implement automation for efficiency. This role involves mentoring junior engineers and providing expertise in complex cloud projects.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Implement scalable and highly available cloud solutions.
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IAC) using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize resource utilization and cost management.
  • Improve security practices and compliance within cloud environments.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior cloud engineers.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve cloud-related issues and incidents.

Qualifications

  • In-depth knowledge of multiple cloud platforms and services.
  • Proven experience with infrastructure as code (IAC) and automation tools.
  • Strong scripting and coding skills (e.g., Python, PowerShell).
  • Ability to design and implement complex cloud solutions.
  • Excellent understanding of networking, security, and compliance in the cloud.
  • Leadership and mentoring capabilities.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years' of relatable experience.
  • Successful completion of multiple cloud projects.

License & Credentials

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate or equivalent (e.g., Azure Administrator Associate, Google Cloud Associate Cloud Engineer) required

Systems & Technology

  • Strong expertise in multiple cloud platforms and services.
  • Proficiency in infrastructure as code (IAC) and automation tools.
  • Advanced scripting and coding skills.
  • Experience with network design and security in the cloud.
  • Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
