ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

This represents a key role in our Strategic Communications team, within Corporate Communications in Avaya Global Marketing. Our team collaborates across the company to build a compelling narrative across audiences, aligning to our brand messaging and corporate priorities, and developing and executing plans that drive our transformation and growth. We are a passionate, high-energy group with diverse backgrounds, and we work together to deliver great outcomes - and have fun along the way. You'll report into the Strategic and Integrated Communications team, which includes the Internal Communications, Sales and Partner Communications, and Strategic Messaging functions. Within our team, you will work closely with our Internal and Sale and Partner Communications functions, as well as Public Relations and Influencer relations, and our solutions marketing and events teams.

You will manage internal and external communications for members of the Avaya executive team, as well as supporting proactive and reactive reputation management efforts. As part of various cross-functional programs, you'll develop and execute the executive and thought leadership plans, in conjunction with the broader corporate comms team. You will also drive strategies to elevate brand awareness and reputation, and work to diffuse negative news and/or category situations, developing reactive statements and talking points, and mitigating risk by actively supporting the management and field teams with consistent and concise communications assets for internal and external stakeholders.

  • Drive multi-channel communications programs across key audiences, for an aligned communications strategy and narrative across internal teams, to support customer success and expand Avaya's global footprint.
  • Be a key member of the comms team for executive and corporate-wide communications needs, developing proactive plans, addressing real-time needs, drafting and/or editing communications and talking points, and managing all elements of execution.
  • Work cross-functionally within marketing, and across solutions and technology, operations, IT teams and others to deliver critical announcements internally and to field, ecosystem, customer and public audiences as appropriate.
  • Deliver communications and social plans that engage and enable audiences with a clear voice and call to action regarding Avaya differentiators, programs, solutions, success stories, etc.
  • Manage communications projects and plans for ongoing programs, product launches and specific communications events and needs.
  • In addition, you'll learn our back-end communications tools and processes, and manage reporting assessments of results/effectiveness to measure progress toward objectives and identify and act on areas for improvement.
ABOUT YOU
  • Direct experience and proven success in corporate communications/public relations, executive communications, reputation/crisis management or related roles.
  • Understanding of business communications industry and cloud solutions highly preferred.
  • Proven success in managing multiple communications projects simultaneously and driving strong work-back plans.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
  • Comfortable working in content management systems
  • Experience in project management systems like Monday
  • Passionate storyteller with superior writing skills. Able to cut through complexity for compelling, concise, action-oriented messages. Adept at taking on the "voice" for each of our executives in their communications.
  • Cross-group collaboration skills and ability to drive coordination across all levels and stakeholders.
  • Highly proactive, organized, and detail-oriented. You can juggle across projects and inputs to deliver on planned deadlines while also accommodating late-breaking needs.
  • Qualifications, certifications, education or alternative expected
  • BA/BS in Journalism, Marketing or Communications and 7+ years of experience in a relevant industry.
COMPENSATION

The pay range for this opportunity is from $122,500 to $165,350 + performance-related bonus + benefits

This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary for this position. This role is also eligible to receive an annual bonus that aligns with individual and company performance. Actual salaries will vary and are based on factors such as a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and location.
