Progyny is looking for an Information Architect to join the Business Strategy and Analytics (BSA) team in New York City. Our team is at the forefront of developing the reporting and forecasting capabilities directly influencing strategic development of the nation's leading fertility benefits management company. As Information Architect, you will help us design and build a comprehensive, business-focused, enterprise data warehouse (EDW) serving as the source of truth for all analytical functions across this org as well as Progyny as a whole. You will have a unique opportunity to define the logical data model that will serve as a blueprint for all physical modelling and data engineering of the EDW from the ground up, working with key subject matter experts across all business to understand their spaces and ensure that we are building toward the simplest possible mutually exclusive and completely exhaustive information landscape. This model will continuously evolve in tandem with shifting business needs and you will accomplish this by being deeply connected to the evolving strategies of each of your business stakeholders.

What you'll do...
  • Define a comprehensive logical data model (LDM) identifying all relevant business entities, attributes and metrics describing those entities, and the definitions and allowed values for those terms

  • Work closely with data engineering to ensure that all physical data models in the analytics layer map correctly into the logical model

  • Build close business partnerships with the various SMEs in Progyny's business to ensure that upcoming changes are considered and reflected in the LDM as early as possible so that the model and underlying data structures can evolve in tandem and not fall behind or become a bottleneck

  • Work to evolve and adapt the structure of the warehouse to accommodate new strategic goals, business models, and other upstream changes in Progyny's data landscape

  • Ensure that semantic layers to support future self-service and built and curated in a way that speaks closely to the language of the business (and preserve that as much as possible within the warehouse itself)

  • Be the champion for best practices regarding data governance, a visible thought leader in Progny's data management practice, and a trusted advisor to the executive team

About you...
  • You have 8+ years of relevant experience as a database administrator, a data architect, or other database-related function

  • You have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information System, or other related field of study

  • 6+ years of consistent, professional SQL development experience (any SQL variant is fine)

  • 4+ years of experience with data modelling tools or other experience building, publishing, and maintaining broadly accepted

  • Demonstrable experience identifying best practices in data modelling and an ability to articulate tradeoffs of different modelling approaches for complex data sets

  • Familiarity with Python

  • Familiarity with standard

  • Strong communication skills and an ability to walk a technical audience through the reasoning behind design choices
