As the Mechanic, GMP Equipment Services you will responsible for performing line setup and maintenance (scheduled and non-scheduled) of all GMP equipment within operations which includes, but is not limited to, the aseptic filling line (vial washer, tunnel, filler, lyophilizer, capper), compounding system, component preparation, terminal sterilizer for diluent product, small parts washer/dryer, autoclave/VHP pass thru unit, secondary packaging line, vial labeler, vision inspection machine and clean utilities (Di System, Clean steam system, WFI system.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist production management in the execution of setup activities to ensure efficient, timely and smooth operations.

  • Set up, operation of and assessing/resolving equipment mechanical problems of all GMP equipment and utilities in the Controlled Classified and non-Classified Production/utility areas (A/B, C, D, clean utility area and packaging area) including but not limited to stopper processor, vial washer, tunnel, capper, filler, autoclaves, VHP pass-thru, small parts washer/dryer, lyophilizer, secondary packaging, labeller, visual inspection machine DI system, Clean steam system and WFI system.

  • Perform corrective and preventive maintenance on all packaging/processing equipment and clean utilities.

  • Work directly with vendors or independently to resolve mechanical issues with GMP equipment/utilities.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Must be available to work weekends, as needed.

**This role will be M-F 3pm-11pm.

Requirements:

  • Associates degree or combination of education and work related experience (Mechanical or Electrical degree or tech school preferred).

  • Minimum two (2) years of pharmaceutical industry or related experience.

  • Experience with packaging or robotics preferred.

  • Demonstrated effective communicating and interpersonal skills.

  • Experience working in controlled critical areas (A, B, C, D or ISO5, 7, 8) is preferred.

  • Proficient with MicroSoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)

  • Strong problem solving skills

  • Able to work under pressure

  • Time management

  • Attention to detail

  • Ability to aseptically gown and/or sterile gown as needed.

  • Practical knowledge of GMP's and working in an SOP environment

Physical Requirements:

  • Standard Manufacturing Plant Working Conditions

  • 60%-70% of time spend on the shop floor

  • Regularly required to talk and hear

  • Frequently required to stand and walk

  • May be required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

Our Compensation and Benefits

At Ferring, base salary is one part of our competitive total compensation and benefits package and is determined using a salary range. The base salary range for this role is $38,013.00 to $88,400.00, which is the reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The actual amount paid may differ based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, education and primary work location. If hired to work 2nd in this role, the pay differential will be 10%. Additional compensation for this role will be provided based on competitive annual incentive compensation targets in the form of an annual bonus - payouts are based on individual and company performance.
