Lead and set example to provide quality supplies and equipment by controlling, storing and distributing the correct supplies and equipment, on time, in the right quantity, in the right condition. Work with the team member to ensure assignments are completed and maintain a continual workflow. Handle inventory issues and assist customers with inventory and equipment issues and needs. Maintain a positive work environment for the entire team. Responsible for reporting all issues to department Management.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor technicians and assist them with daily tasks when necessary. Identify inefficiencies and discuss with Management and make recommendations to improve productivity. Oversees the supply and equipment requirements for the shift, instructs and acts as a resource for the team in data entry functions for all issues and returns of supplies. Communicates issues/concerns with Management, team members and other shifts to minimize delay in service, thus increasing overall productivity and effectiveness. Assign or adjust task assignments if needed. Observe workflow and make adjustments if required to ensure distribution standards are maintained. Coach and encourage the Materials Distribution Technicians. Observe competencies and report performances of team members to Supervisor.
  • Able to motivate team members by delegating tasks, giving instruction, troubleshoot issues and setting clear team goals (ie: completion of code carts, trays, stocking shelves)
  • Monitor teams performance throughout the shift (ie: making sure Omnicells are getting restocked in a TIMELY manner, scheduled breaks, assignments)
  • Assist with Picking, Packing and Restocking of Omnicells. If needed, generate additional or missing PickTickets from the Omnicell server for delivery. Assist with maintaining Omnicells button bars, labels, clips, bins and dividers. Enter and file special repairs issues immediately by entering an Omnicell Ticket.
  • Oversee and assist with restocking of Code Carts, speciality carts and trays by adhering to the Quality Pick List and organization of the cart/tray.
  • Advise Inventory Controller and Supervisor of stock-outs and critical low inventory; communication via phone and email are essential. Participate in department preparation and year end inventory. Checking expiration dates and package integrity upon issue of all supplies. Oversee entry of inventory issues/data entry. As well as communicating inventory and safety concerns at our daily department huddle.
  • Oversee and assist to ensure products are stocked in the correct location, adhering to bin location. Oversee process of equipment integrity, bagging and tagging.
  • Count and report problematic counts (3-5 items a night) to the Inventory Controller.
  • Other duties and/or projects may be assigned.
  • Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.
  • Minimum 1 year hospital, warehouse experience.
  • Commitment to learning and quality improvement processes. Good communication skills (verbal and written), reading and math ability required. Able to respond to STAT requests by moving quickly.
  • Basic computer skills

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

  • Minimum 1 year customer service skills.
  • Team Lead experience
