Responsibilities

  • Organizes and coordinates the practice and simulation laboratory and computer lab. This includes teaching and evaluating students in the practice and simulation laboratory with a major emphasis on simulation, participating in school and institutional committees and activities, leadership activities, professional development, financial and coordination responsibilities.
  • Develop and coordinate schedule for skills laboratory and simulation laboratory each semester with nursing faculty. Schedule laboratory faculty to ensure coverage for all laboratory sessions and simulations. Develops simulations laboratory guideline and evaluation of simulation experience. Establishes and updates policies and standard practices for simulation. Setup and breakdown of equipment for skills practice, simulation and classroom activity. Orient new faculty to simulation and train faculty in the role of simulation operator
  • Teaches and reinforce nursing skills. Complete remediation as needed with report to course faculty of student progress. Maintains and updates laboratory manual and skills competency checklist. Provides orientation to students for Practice and Simulation Lab and computer lab.
  • Develop and implements simulation scenarios. Evaluates simulation activates and skills laboratory activities for continuous improvement. Work collaboratively with nursing faculty to achieve student-learning outcomes. Pursue continuous quality improvement in the nurse educator role. Engage in scholarship activities.
  • Inventory, manage and maintain laboratory supplies and equipment.
  • Other duties and/or projects as assigned. Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.

Qualifications

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Masters Degree in Nursing.
  • Minimum of 2 years active nursing experience plus experience in nursing simulation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

  • Doctorate
  • Proficiency in educational software.

Licenses and Certifications Required:

  • NJ State Professional Registered Nurse License.
