Casework Manager

Casework Manager provides leadership, guidance, and support to casework services. Casework Manager engages in daily activities to monitor real-time updates on casework status and communicates with Cherokee leadership and Health & Hospitals' HERRC program leadership. The Casework Manager helps establish and maintain collaborative partnerships with local, state, federal agencies, community-based organizations, faith-based organizations, and legal partners. The Casework Manager will place special emphasis on fostering a work environment and approach that aligns with casework best practices, cultural competence, and compassionate supportive care.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Estimated Starting Salary Range for Casework Manager $90,000
  • Pay commensurate with experience.
  • Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.

Casework Manager Responsibilities Include:

  • Maintain continuous management of casework referral services status.
  • Maintain real-time updates on casework status and communication with Cherokee leadership and Health & Hospitals' HERRC program leadership.
  • Create and maintain community engagement and collaboration.
  • Provide ongoing supervision of casework supervisors.
  • Support Casework efforts to help asylum seekers transition out of the city's supportive housing and resettlement services.
  • Designate casework supervisors' caseloads.
  • Assign casework supervisor's work schedules.
  • Conduct casework supervisor performance evaluations.
  • Support case worker training model efforts.
  • Implement procedural / process improvement changes as required to improve upon the delivery of services.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Casework Manager Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:

  • Master's degree in social work or other human services field + two years of relevant experience working with people who enter the U.S. seeking asylum.
  • 2+ years of experience supervising casework staff in the delivery of culturally sensitive, trauma-informed services.
  • Solid understanding of immigration laws, regulations, procedures, and benefits/entitlements. Must possess strong organizational and leadership skills and ability to manage a team.
  • Comprehensive understanding of trauma and how it manifests, as well as experience delivering trauma-informed, culturally sensitive services.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to learn quickly and problem-solve under pressure and within prescribed timelines.
  • Supervisory experience
  • Experience conducting performance evaluations.
  • Experience with the utilization of date to track and assess case progress.
  • Must be organized as well as, have excellent verbal, written and communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with families, collaborating agencies, and community professionals.
  • Strong customer service background
  • A self-starter, able to work with minimal supervision and work independently.
  • Able to prioritize and be accountable for timeliness to complete projects in a timely manner.
  • Possess sensitivity to the service population's cultural and socio-economic characteristics.
  • Ability to organize, multitask and prioritize duties and responsibilities efficiently.
  • Able to effectively manage significant administrative and process documentation.
  • Possess sensitivity to the service population's cultural and socio-economic characteristics.
  • Past applicable job experience may include, but is not limited to: Social Services Supervisor, Case Manager Supervisor, or Client Services Manager
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
