Communications plays a critical role in shaping perceptions within Aon and outside our firm about how we help clients make better decisions and deliver positive outcomes for colleagues, clients and shareholders. Aon's global Communications Leader for Risk Capital will be responsible for internal and external communications for the firm's Risk Capital capability with a particular focus on Aon's Commercial Risk solution line, partnering closely with the communications team which supports the firm's Reinsurance solution line. In partnership with executive and marketing leaders for Risk Capital and Commercial Risk, the Communications Leader for Risk Capital will be responsible for developing and delivering an internal and external communications strategy to support the firm's Commercial Risk business priorities and leadership, identifying and promoting stories that create awareness and understanding of Commercial Risk's content and capabilities, activating a speaker's bureau of Commercial Risk leaders to connect with internal and external partners and amplifying global landmark moments for Commercial Risk.

The role will report to Aon's Global Head of Communications and Chief Marketing Officer for Risk Capital.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Build and implement an internal and external communications strategy in support of the firm's Commercial Risk priorities and leadership, including the amplification of global landmark moments for Commercial Risk.
  • Identify and promote stories that create recognition and understanding of Commercial Risk's content and capabilities.
  • Prepare and activate a speaker's bureau of Commercial Risk leaders to participate in media interviews and speaking opportunities.
  • Support global Commercial Risk leaders - most prominently the global CEO of Commercial Risk - in communicating across the global Commercial Risk team and with external partners.
  • Partner with Aon's media relations and thought leadership team to develop and distribute corporate press releases, media advisories and thought leadership content related to Commercial Risk and Risk Capital
  • Work closely with other executive and marketing & communications leaders for Risk Capital (Commercial Risk and Reinsurance) and Human Capital (Health, Wealth and Talent) to ensure alignment within and across our capabilities and solution lines.
Skills and experience that will lead to success

Experience/Credentials:

  • Lead all aspects of content creation and support in the preparation and development of materials for speaking engagements, client pitches, presentations, internal meetings, and digital communications.
  • A bachelor's degree.
  • Ability to lead sophisticated, critical internal and external communications initiatives, carefully navigating each situation to balance individual and organizational agendas.
  • Build and manage relationships with journalists, online influencers, and key internal leaders.

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to complete programs with speed, accuracy and efficiency.

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $150,000-$200,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.

This position is eligible to participate in Aon's annual bonus incentive plans in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
