Job Summary:

This position is responsible for supporting Radiology modalities and their throughput of patients. Transports patients to and from testing areas via walking, wheelchairs, and stretchers. Requires direct patient care, assisting the patient and technologist before, during and after their studies. Answers and routes phone calls - may contact customers, suppliers, or other employees outside the immediate work unit to exchange information. Provide a wide variety of duties to support the technologists including the use of the computer to access patient records for study completion.

Job Responsibilities

Administers patient preparations according to established department protocols. Demonstrates concern for patient comfort, privacy and safety.

Ensures information is forwarded to the correct department and calls are routed to the appropriate personnel. May greet customers and answer routine inquires. May contact customers or other employees outside the immediate work unit to exchange information.

Responsible for accuracy of assigned work. Processes documents according to established procedures and practices.

Transports patients to and from testing areas

Assists other personnel as requested.

Position Qualifications Required

Required Experience:

Must demonstrate a positive demeanor and compassion. Must be able to handle potentially stressful situations and multi-task. Customer service experience preferred.

Basic computer user skills.

Must have strong communication skills (verbal-written-listening) in order to interact with internal staff and external customers.

Required Education: High School diploma.

Training/Certification /Licensures: CPR preferred.
