The Department of Pathology and Cell Biology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center seeks a highly qualified candidate that will work in concert with a wet bench neurobiology lab and dry lab bioinformatics lab. The position will require a strong understanding of brain development as well as a strong background in data modeling with fluency in R and Python. This individual will be responsible for generating a biological dataset set with various pharmacological interventions and then processing the data through an already established pipeline, which will generate a very large, multidimensional dataset. The individual will then analyze this dataset through multiple measures in order to ascertain signal and background.

Lab Mission/Purpose:
The Au lab is a basic developmental neurobiology lab that focuses on the short-range inhibitory cells of the neocortex: cortical interneurons. Specifically, we are interested the development and early circuit integration of cortical interneurons and how mis-integration can contribute to the etiology of neuropsychiatric disease.
