Essential Accountabilities:

  1. Strategic Sourcing Leadership: Lead the transition from tactical to strategic sourcing processes, implementing best practices to enhance value creation.
  2. Customer Support and Problem Resolution: Assist internal and external stakeholders in developing commercial terms, resolving raw material quality issues, and optimizing supply chains.
  3. Category Strategy Development: Craft innovative category strategies aligning with business unit objectives and effectively communicate them to key stakeholders.
  4. Supplier Relationship Management: Identify strategic suppliers, negotiate contracts, lead cost negotiations, and cultivate long-term relationships to drive innovation and competitiveness.
  5. Supply Chain Optimization: Develop and execute long-term supply strategies, conduct market analysis, and stay abreast of industry trends to optimize the supply base.
  6. Project Management: Manage sourcing projects, convert requisitions to purchase orders, and supervise junior associates to ensure project success and team development.
  7. Compliance and Safety: Uphold Rockline's RRITE values and ensure all work is performed safely and in accordance with company standards.

Additional Specialty Responsibilities (Capital Sourcing):

  1. Strategic Sourcing Practices: Identify and implement sourcing best practices for capital acquisitions, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and adding value to the business.
  2. Supplier Relationship Building: Stay informed about equipment and services, build strong supplier relationships, and contribute to strategic sourcing success with capital projects.
  3. Capital Planning: Participate in the capital planning process, executing strategies to achieve sourcing success and enhance organizational value.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 8 years of strategic sourcing or related discipline experience within assigned categories.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related field required; MBA preferred. CPSM, CPIM, or C.P.M. preferred.
  • Extensive experience in contract negotiation, with excellent knowledge of contract law and Uniform Commercial Code (UCC).
  • Proficiency in market surveys, cost analysis, and RFQ/RFP preparation.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop associates in sourcing best practices.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build internal and external relationships and collaborate effectively.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, analytical, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to analyze market trends, evaluate supply sources, and provide solutions to internal customers.
  • Capacity to make sound business decisions under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • High-energy, self-motivated individual with strong analytical and persuasive abilities.
  • Proven leadership skills, capable of developing consensus and driving action in others.
  • Ability to work independently and lead project teams to achieve goals.
  • Proficient in negotiation strategies with discretion, especially in complex situations with high business impact.
  • Willingness to travel nationally and internationally, up to 25-30%.
  • Strong background in sourcing capital equipment, indirect, and related services preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Mechanical aptitude, maintenance, and/or engineering knowledge/expertise strongly preferred.
  • Experience in manufacturing and comprehensive understanding of complex contracts/agreements.
  • Familiarity with financial aspects of capital expenditures such as ROI, NPV, cash flow, and total cost of ownership.
