Principal, DataCenter / Validation Lab Solutions Engineering Lead

THE ROLE:

Senior Data Center Engineering lead responsible for the completion of complex NPI engineering projects involving AMD IP (Silicon, HW Systems, SW) and partner technologies (Fabric, Storage, Accelerators) to deliver CPU datacenter system solutions. The role will be responsible for partnering with stakeholders, leadership, teams, and vendors to analyze needs and issues, define and achieve consensus on strategies, and implement technologies and best practices to deliver consistent, repeatable, and high-quality solutions across SSG Validation labs and Colo Data center partners.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Define, plan, and drive engineering program plans based on AMD management and senior technical guidance.
  • Provide program management leadership to technical teams spanning multiple disciplines and geographies.
  • Establish and foster executive level relationships with key supplier across the supply chain, allowing for critical cost savings initiatives, rapid changes in demand as we build lab capacity for SI validation.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders in Lab and Colo planning, development, and validation activities.
  • Coordinate team communications and reviews with AMD senior management and customers
  • Track and report status vs. objectives throughout the lifecycle of the program

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Data center requirements for technical equipment, power and IT management, Negotiations skills, manufacturing process methodology and lab build outs.
  • Experience in areas of datacenter system design, software development, and validation
  • Familiarity with PCB and computer system testing tools, methodologies, and defect tracking.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Project management and Data Center experience in high tech industry
  • Bachelor's degree in EE, ME, CE, or CS; Master's preferred; but not required
  • Skilled in MS Office & MS Project tool suites, Confluence, MS SharePoint
