The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

The Department of Pediatrics is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator to join our team in a full time position within the division of Pediatric Gastroenterology. Columbia University Irving Medical Center's Department of Pediatrics is a world leader in providing care for children. Our mission areas include Healthcare, Education and Research. Our Clinical, Translational and Basic Science research features collaborations across specialties and stretches from the bench to bedside. We also have several active Clinical trials available to our patients. This position will be responsible for coordinating clinic appointments, assessing and monitoring the healthcare transition process, and tracking health outcome measures and healthcare utilization. The coordinator will conduct follow-up clinic visits, perform and analyze transition readiness assessments, create educational materials, and provide education to patients and families.

Responsibilities

  • Screen and enroll patients in studies and obtain consent and prepare IRB documents.
  • Perform and score the Transition Readiness Assessment every three months, monitor and track transition process.
  • Develop Short Bowel Syndrome Educational materials and assess self-care skills.
  • Provide education targeting identified patients, establish and update patient registry.
  • Track health outcome measures and healthcare utilization.
  • Coordinate clinic appointments, extract data from the medical record.
  • Plan agenda for monthly meetings and develop individualized Multi-Disciplinary Team plans.
  • Create clinical transfer document and Create individualized transition checklist.
  • Performs related duties & responsibilities as assigned/requested.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two years of related experience.
  • Bi-lingual, English/Spanish.

  • Candidate should be enthusiastic, hardworking and detail-oriented, with the ability to work independently.
  • Candidate should enjoy working with children, adolescents, and young adults.
