HJF is seeking a part-time MRI Technician I to perform research and/or development in collaboration with others for projects. MRI Technician will aid physicians and other medical personnel by performing a variety of tasks including operating magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanners and performing diagnostic testing. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. This is the second of three levels within the MRI Technician series.

This position will be in support of the Orthopedics Knee Simulation program at Keller Army Community Hospital in NY.

Responsibilities
    Operate a magnetic resonance imaging scanner to obtain images used by the study for data collection.
  • Operate console and peripheral hardware using study appropriate imaging techniques.
  • Enter and monitor patient and study data. Transfer images from disk to electronic media.
  • Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals set forth by the protocol and as directed by the supervisor.
  • Works under the general supervision of the MRI-designated radiologist while following study protocol. Will report to a chief technologist or manager.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Associate's degree in Radiology field is required.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience required.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Registration/Certification in MRI with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • A sensitivity to the physical and psychological needs of patients.
  • Attention to detail.
  • The capacity to follow a physician's instructions.
  • The ability to work with a team.
  • Valid driver's license and insurance.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a T1/Public Trust background check.

Work Environment

  • This position will take place primarily in a hospital environment.

Compensation

  • The likely salary range for this position is $24.09/hour - $35.75/hour USD. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Final salary will be determined based on market analysis, experience, and education.

Some positions or sites may require that the incumbent be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Proof of vaccination may be required.
