We are currently seeking associate level scientists to become part of an existing, experienced team of scientists based in Wilmington, DE supporting host construction, improvement, and product development projects. Candidates must have proven experience and a strong foundation in molecular biology and physiology. This will be a predominantly lab-based role with a focus on the construction, optimization, and improvement of microbial cell factories.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to project-related molecular/microbiology workstreams using modern molecular and cell biology.
  • Support optimization, analysis and improvement of cell factories based on project direction and data.
  • Carry out work that requires collaboration with others as part of a project team to deliver on project goals.
  • Carry out project work as directed by project leader.
  • Explore and implement new methods and technologies with project team.
  • Generate and effectively communicate data.
  • Prepare technical reports, data summaries, presentations, protocols, and other technical and regulatory documents.
  • Understanding of basic scientific principles of molecular and cell biology.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multi-functional team to deliver on specific project goals.
  • Hands-on-mentality and a strong affinity for lab work.
  • Willing to learn new skills and techniques.
  • Able to adapt to changes, drive multiple workstreams in parallel, and thrive in a fast-paced R&D environment.
  • Proven ability to work and collaborate with others to solve problems.
  • Goal oriented and capable of task-oriented delivery.
  • Demonstrated team player and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and excellent attention to detail. Able to deliver consistent high-quality experimental data from molecular biology and analytical experiments.
  • Ability to be effective in a growing, dynamic, and changing business environment.

Preferred Experience:

  • B.S. or M.S. degree in Biology/Microbiology/Molecular Biology.
  • 1-3 years of research experiencein Microbiology/Molecular Biology.
