Engagement strategy drives activation planning for our clients, providing multichannel marketing expertise to the multidisciplinary teams that serve our clients. Along with client work, this team leads the agency's thought leadership activities and is involved in our business development process.

The Director, Engagement Strategy will lead the creation of integrated marketing and communications plans for a specific set of clients and brands. You will be comfortable taking ownership of your accounts, while collaborating with other engagement strategists, other strategy team members, and colleagues from other disciplines (eg, account management, project management, creative, technology, and media). This is a high-visibility leadership position within the agency and comes with heavy client-facing responsibilities. You will report to the Vice President, Engagement Strategy.

You will:

  • Lead research efforts in pursuit of actionable insights around important brand challenges, top commercial opportunities, and customer beliefs, behaviors, and needs
  • Translate this knowledge into annual strategic and tactic plans that address the right strategic levers and comprise an optimized mix of channels, tactics, content, and messaging
  • Elevate the agency as a strategic partner and trusted advisor to clients by demonstrating a full understanding of their businesses and the ability to craft actionable solutions to their challenges
  • Oversee the execution of scoped projects from conception through execution to ensure strategic understanding remains intact
  • Partner with Account teams to identify opportunities for account growth
  • Bring new innovative thinking to clients that propel their businesses forward
  • Work with Creative teams to bring brand campaigns to life through smart tactical programs that deliver inspiring customer experiences
  • Collaborate with the Analytics team to define measurement plans, contribute analysis to performance reports, and develop optimization recommendations
  • Play an active leadership role in our business development process, supporting proposal development and new business pitches
  • Keep current on marketing best practices; trends, channels, technologies, and partners -both within and outside of healthcare
  • Be an expert for the agency and its clients; write POVs and blog articles; lead training and workshops; and sharing best practices, emerging trends, and innovations

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of agency experience with a foundation in healthcare/pharmaceutical marketing
  • 3+ years in a digital strategy, engagement strategy, or channel planning role
  • Experience marketing to healthcare professionals
  • Experience launching new healthcare/pharma products (or new indications)
  • Main discipline expertise: market research & insights, brand strategy, multichannel marketing (MCM), digital marketing, customer relationship management (CRM), relationship marketing (RM), customer segmentation, content marketing, marketing & sales automation, digital media, social media, search (SEO/SEM), event/experiential marketing, marketing analytics,
  • Experience with Veeva, including familiarity with platform capabilities and best practices
  • Hands-on experience with Web analytics platforms and social media listening tools
  • Can manage client relationships and navigate multi-stakeholder environments
  • Hands-on experience with agency new business efforts, including proposal writing and pitching
  • Proficient in creating impactful presentations
  • Must be willing to travel up to 25%

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position. This range may differ based on your experience and skill set, geographic location, and cost of living considerations.
