Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking an Organizational and Talent Development Specialist for the department of University Human Resources. The Organizational and Talent Development vision is to attract, retain and invest in Rutgers' staff employees and to prepare them to successfully support world-class faculty and our student population as the university evolves and adapts to a changing higher education landscape. One Rutgers Employee Development (OneRED) is the umbrella under which staff development initiatives are housed and is cared for by the Organizational and Talent Development unit. OneRED seeks to promote a culture of continuous learning and professional growth through various programs targeting the university's short- and long-term needs. These programs will have a strategic focus and offer multiple modalities for learning. This position works cross-functionally with various teams and departments to understand training needs, skill gaps, and areas of improvement. The Organizational and Talent Development Specialist supports programs and initiatives that drive and support the university wide employee development strategy.

Among the key duties of this position are the following:
  • Responsible for the supporting all areas of organizational and talent development - both individually and in collaboration with others on the Organizational and Talent Development team.
  • Primary accountability for supporting the execution of learning, talent and organizational development programs and initiatives.
  • Participates in special projects to support and strengthen employee development.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience
  • Requires a bachelor's degree preferably in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, Education or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • A minimum of two (2) years progressive relevant experience in talent development, organizational development, project management, human resources or an administrative function.
Certifications/Licenses
  • Use of personal vehicle to travel for business demands; a valid driver's license would be required for this position.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Results-oriented with ability to support multiple initiatives and projects concurrently.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organization and prioritization skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to summarize information and key findings.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a strong ability to establish and maintain effective relationships throughout the university.
  • Experience supporting talent development programs.
  • Experience using multiple instructional design options and learning methodologies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with individuals at all levels.
  • Excellent interpersonal, management, motivation, and analytical skills.
  • Detail oriented with strong organization, presentation, and prioritization skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a strong ability to establish and maintain effective relationships throughout the university.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience facilitating workshops for both in-person and virtual formats.
  • Proven decision-making skills and ability to manage multiple projects and initiatives concurrently, tracking deadlines & milestones and communicating status.
  • Strategic thinker able to execute innovative ideas.
