Hours: Full-time, 35 hours/week Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.
Pay Range: $27.43-$28.57/hour*

Position Objective: Facilitates the development of a network of employers to support Adolescent Skills Center (ASC)/ Adolescent Career Development Center (ACDC) employment efforts. Responsible for conducting individualized assessments and internship/employment placements.
Position Summary: Provides vocational services to emotionally and behaviorally challenged youth. Develops employment plans in conjunction with youth goals and helps youth secure employment/ internships. Identifies potential labor markets that are appropriate for ASC/ ACDC youth and maintain frequent face to face contact with employers. Promote and market the advantages of employing. Responsible for natural supports in the workplace, retention and transition strategies, job coaching, financial literacy and benefits planning/management.
Major duties and responsibilities:
  1. Researching industry and labor market trends, internet sources, newspapers, job boards, and conduct cold calls to identify job leads.
  2. Maintain a database of jobs, hiring events, job fairs and an inventory of current and potential employers.
  3. Conducting continuing outreach for the purpose of building census in Vocational Program.
  4. Assist in Contacting potential employers through all forms of communication and social media, also providing field visits for the purpose of generating employment or educational opportunities; network with businesses and Mental Health community regarding available services (i.e. Business Advisory Council, Chamber of Commerce ETC); interacts with providers of Adolescent services for the purpose of collateral and outreach.
  5. Shadowing youth on a regular basis or until they are comfortable within the work environment and assist with negotiating accommodations in the workplace, where needed.
  6. Maintaining frequent communication with employers in order to provide necessary supports, assess job performance and ensure continued development in accordance with the consistency of the youth's disclosure plan.
  7. Provides necessary training for a paid or volunteer positions; monitor progress in work or volunteer setting; act as an advocate and complete reports and documentation in a timely manner.
  8. Monitor the progress of consumers in their work environments and providing recommendations for improvement
  9. Implements creative vocational assignments/projects/opportunities for youth, both in and outside of the classroom.
  10. Maintains job development log and job placement/ retention log.
  11. Develops long and short term vocational goals for participants.

Qualifications: Minimum of a BA degree in a related field with at least 2 years of vocational experience providing employment/vocational services to young adults.
