Howmet Aerospace is currently looking a Monoshell Utility Worker to join our Dover Casting group in Dover, New Jersey. The work hours for this Midnight position are Sunday Night to Thursday Night 10:00PM-6:30PM. Training on Day shift M-F 6:00A - 2:30P.

New Hire Starting Hourly Rate: $22.02; After 12 Months: $24.58

Position will receive an hourly "shift premium" while assigned to an off-shift

JOB SUMMARY

The Monoshell Utility Worker works independently and under supervision to support the 5s, TPM and Kaizen events in the Monoshell dept. With an emphasis on restoring equipment and Dip cells to their original state. At times will be utilized to assist with cell start up activities to reduce department downtime.

ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH & SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Expected to assist in the implementation of Howmet Aerospace's EHS value and policy statement and its accompanying principles.
  • Comply with all department, facility, Corporate and Regulatory EH&S regulations.
  • Wear all required personal protective equipment.
  • Report all job-related illness and injuries. (Per employee handbook).
  • Report all Safety, Health & Environmental concerns to your supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Attend all EH&S training.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Job Functions

  • Responsible for restoring and maintaining department equipment to its original condition.
  • Provide support and be an active team member in dept. 5s, TPM and Kaizen events.
  • When needed assist the Monoshell OP1 during cell startups.
  • Assist with maintaining waste slurry and materials in accordance with EHS requirements and department specified activity instructions.
  • Report issues with dip pots, sanders, and robots back to the Supervisor and Group Leads.

  • Independent judgment is often required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written).
  • Must be able to work flexible hours including night and weekends with little advanced notice.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position entails access to export-controlled items and employment offers are conditioned upon an applicant's ability to lawfully obtain access to such items.
  • No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Candidates residing within a 50 miles radius of Dover NJ will only be considered.
  • High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to work overtime or weekends depending on production needs
  • Previous Monoshell experience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/EQUIPMENT USED

  • Must be able to operate Mobile equipment, power, and hand tools.
  • Frequent lifting, up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequent standing and walking.
  • Primarily working in a climate-controlled environment.
  • Must be respirator trained and certified
  • Required PPE: Metatarsal Shoes, Eye, and hearing protection.

MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Mechanically inclined. Able to trouble shoot issues with equipment.
