The salary for this position is estimated to be $162,000 - 205,500 annualized.

Position Description:
Lead and manage sustainability related activities within/across regions. Guide management decisions for implementing sustainability programs within region. Key member of National Sustainability Committee to create and implement company's sustainability vision.

Report to: Operations Manager, General Manager, or Regional Senior VP

Essential Duties & Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage regional implementation of sustainability and resiliency programs.
  • Advisor to Sustainability Managers within Business Unit (BU) and projects to ensure full engagement of sustainability.
  • Communicate and promote concepts of sustainability and resilience to promote sustainability culture and guide project teams and BU management decisions.
  • Develop and manage relationships with sustainability-related subcontractors, suppliers, vendors, manufacturers, designers, and clients to advance common goals.
  • Key member of National Sustainability Committee to create and direct company's sustainability vision.
  • Lead subcommittees to develop programs in support of company's sustainability vision.
  • Collaborate with Business Development on sales pursuits and client engagement; collaborate at national level.
  • Engage with and support projects targeting sustainable certification or with client-driven specific sustainability-centered goals.
  • Contribute as subject matter expert (SME) to sustainability charrette (design collaboration) meetings on new projects targeting sustainable certification.
  • Collect sustainability great practices and share improvement efforts across regions and with National Sustainability Network.
  • Contribute sustainability set-up items during Project Launch to support Operations.
  • Oversee and track yearly regional sustainability goals and conduct regular project status reviews.
  • Communicate project status, Turner sustainability initiatives, training opportunities, and trends with regional management.
  • Engage and guide project teams to participate in Metering Program, assist in project set up and quality control review of data.
  • Maintain current knowledge of market and industry trends related to sustainability and resilience, including rating system updates and code changes.
  • Manage Green Building Database and Resilient Project Information Sheets.
  • Oversee completion and implementation of Turner Green Zone checklist.
  • Lead and develop Sustainability team to ensure deep bench strength in key areas of expertise. Foster teamwork, open communication, and collaboration within extended team.
  • Deliver timely performance feedback and execute/contribute to performance appraisals during annual performance cycle, utilizing talent management systems.
  • Collaborate with other Turner departments for regular updates of cross-functional tools (e.g., Lean Scorecard, Launch Matrix).
  • Participate in external organizations, conferences, and events beneficial to community engagement, continued learning, program expansion, and business development.

  • Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree from accredited degree program and minimum of 8 years of construction and/or sustainability industry experience or equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience
    • Construction Operations experience desired
    • LEED project experience, a plus
    • LEED Professional Accreditation administered by Green Building Certification Institute, desired or other relevant green building rating system accreditation
    • Previous experience with Sustainability topics, practices, and processes
    • Project management experience, desired
    • Independently manage competing demands
