Position Overview

The Claims User Acceptance Tester (UAT) will be responsible for validating whether all the business requirements have been fulfilled before releasing the actual product to production. The individual will perform positive and negative testing to identify and ensure any defects found are corrected prior to implementation. The Claims UAT will develop and follow a test plan which adheres to standard UAT quality practices/processes. In addition, the individual will act as a subject matter expert for all of Claims operations system application, ensuring the consistency of information across the department.

Job Description
  • Specialize as a subject matter expert in testing and validating that business requirements have been implemented, as required prior to project go-live.
  • Lead and coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) events to test and verify that solutions and tools meet the requirements set out by the business stakeholders for successful and timely project delivery.
  • Create and manage a User Acceptance Testing plan for each UAT event assigned.
  • Responsible for UAT planning, test case specifications, test execution, defect management, and test status reporting activities.
  • Participate in data mining and review forum activities to understand requirements, business processes and solution design.
  • Understand the system's scope and project objectives, as well as the role and functions of each team member to effectively coordinate the activities of the team.
  • Collaborate with IT, CORE, and Claims teams as needed.
  • Identify and manage risks, issues, mitigation, and action items to closure, as they pertain to UAT.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Claims Quality Manager or Director of Claims Quality.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required with 4+ years of information technology quality assurance and systems/application testing experience; or
  • High School Diploma with 9+ years information technology quality assurance and systems/application testing experience required.
  • Knowledge and understanding of creating test plans, test cases, test procedures, test scripts, and expected results.
  • Prior experience performing user acceptance testing.
  • Experience with various types and levels of testing (e.g. unit, integration, and system testing).
  • Must be able demonstrate adaptability to accommodate changes in scope and time.
  • Must have experience interfacing with functional and technical Business Analysts and can quickly understand business requirements to develop and execute appropriate tests scenarios.
  • Must be able to manage priorities to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work with users to understand the objectives and be able to provide the structure to meet those objectives.
  • Must be detailed, have strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge and experience of medical care, government programs and commercial lines-of-business.
  • Project management certification and experience, a plus.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.
