We're seeking a future team member for the role of Vice President, Credit Advisory I to join our Wealth Management team. This role is located in New York, NY and is hybrid.

In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:

  • Serve as a key contributor to Private Wealth's commitment to lending, responsible for executing the credit strategy, underwriting, appraisal and portfolio management functions of the Private Banking Real Estate Lending Team.
  • Provide independent and objective in-depth analysis and monitoring of credit quality for the most highly complex real estate commercial loans.
  • Working with Wealth Management relationship managers/originators in structuring, underwriting, and proposing of new loans.
  • Accountable for a portfolio of loans and responsible for preparing the annual loan reviews in accordance with current credit policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a high level of service standards and continuously strive to meet client objectives in the effort to consistently grow a high-quality nationwide portfolio.
  • Adhere to established policies and procedures in managing the risks and minimizing potential losses while working within a time sensitive environment.
  • Partner with Wealth Management relationship managers in marketing and identifying strong lending opportunities.
  • Meets with clients to listen to their credit needs, flags possible transaction risks and suggests structured solutions.
  • Propose the lending solutions and present term sheets to management, direct document preparation and lead negotiations through the closing process.
  • No direct reports but may assist in development/mentoring/guidance of more junior associates on the team.
  • Travel is required.

To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • MBA is preferred.
  • 5-7 years of total work experience preferred; experience in private bank lending or commercial banking preferred.

BNY Mellon assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $73,100 and $126,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNYM total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
