What you'll do

As the Director Finance, Operations you will be responsible for overseeing the company's Product Costs by providing analytics of manufacturing performance (both internal manufacturing and for the co-mans); tracking purchase price variances for ingredients and packaging; contract negotiation/strategy, validating savings derived from productivity & renovation initiatives; supporting commercial initiatives related to innovation and/or product changes; establishing and maintaining reporting requirements for in-house manufacturing facility; and partnering with the Operations team to drive strategic decisions to optimize the Supply Chain network. The role will be the business partner to the Manufacturing (Internal and External) and Procurement groups and requires a strong operational focus with a challenger mindset along with some background in Cost Accounting.

This is a pivotal role which will interact with an array of internal and external senior management level stakeholders, including SVP Supply Chain, VP Operations, VP Quality, VP Customer Ops, VP PMO, SVP Product Development, Head of Procurement, COO and CFO, and therefore requires strong communication and influencing skills while at the same time having the ability to deliver effective, timely resolution of issues. In addition, this individual will manage a team and will demonstrate a drive for developing talent.

Job Aspects:

  • Monitor accuracy of bottom's up financial forecasts and engage Operations stakeholders on course correction as required
  • Drive business performance improvement with insights and challenger thinking enabling a leaner cost environment while delivering improvements in service and quality
  • Oversee all COGS reporting through effective variance analysis tools and appropriate comparisons vs budget/forecast and prior year
  • Conduct strategic sourcing analysis with Procurement stakeholders to unlock productivity & working capital savings
  • Lead financial model development of strategic sourcing & capacity initiatives aimed to reduce total delivered cost within KIND's NA supply chain network
  • Ensure accuracy & completeness of Bill of Material & Cost Card inputs through "hands-on" interaction with external stakeholder like co-manufacturers and suppliers
  • Track & Forecast Supply Chain Business investments such as FCC, start-up & trial spend, change part & capital expenditure
  • Ideate, track and report productivity & renovation projects savings through IBP process and within inventory and P&L reconciliation
  • Ensure that the Company's accounting policies, procedures and controls in the areas of Product Costs, standard costing (for internal manufacturing and Co-Mans), and capital are properly implemented, maintained and monitored

You have...

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting required
  • CPA preferred
  • Big 4 Public Accounting background preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with cost accounting experience
  • CPG and Food manufacturing experience
  • Management experience, preferably having developed teams
  • Strong leadership qualities with excellent communication, collaboration and influencing skills
  • Attention to detail

Pluses (if applicable)

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (Hubble & JD Edwards preferred)

Certain states and localities require employers to post a reasonable estimate of salary range. A reasonable estimate of the current base salary range for this position is $117,600 - $164,400. Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors, including location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ.
