We are currently seeking a Logistics Manager to join our team, reporting to the Director, Inventory & Logistics Planning. This role offers a high degree of flexibility between working remotely and working in our Stamford, CT headquarters on an as-needed basis. As a Logistics Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the efficient movement, distribution, and storage of finished cased goods within our organization. Your responsibilities working closely with the Director Inventory & Logistics Planning will span various aspects of logistics, including negotiating with transportation and warehousing service providers, managing budgets, and collaborating with the finance team on logistics initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  1. Freight Service Providers:
    • Evaluate carriers for transportation of DFWS finished cased goods both domestically and internationally
    • Annually negotiate to obtain competitive rates while ensuring quality of service .
    • Collaborate with transportation companies, freight forwarders, and warehousing partners to optimize logistics operations.
    • Ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.
    • Address logistics-related issues and resolve promptly.
  2. Budget Management:
    • Monitor and manage logistics budgets, ensuring adherence to financial targets.
    • Analyze logistics costs, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement strategies to optimize expenses.
    • Maintains DFWS' warehousing and logistics footprint and costs as relates to DFWS budgetary cycles
  3. Reporting and Analysis:
    • Generate regular reports on logistics performance, including lead times, transportation costs, and inventory levels.
    • Provide insights to senior management regarding logistics efficiency, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement.
    • Collaborate with finance teams to align logistics data and initiatives with financial reporting.
  4. Continuous Improvement:
    • Stay informed about shipping carriers, routes, and rate changes.
    • Implement best practices to enhance logistics efficiency.
    • Evaluate and recommend process improvements.
  5. Compliance and Regulations:
    • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, including maintaining DFWS' standing with CTPAT compliance.

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of operations, freight forwarder or 3PL provider experience, in positions with increasing responsibility
  • Bachelors' degree required; degree in Supply Chain Management or logistics preferred
  • Working knowledge of inventory management software (e.g. ERP) required
  • Strong, proven negotiation skills
  • Proven ability to plan and organize workload and work within tight deadlines, while flourishing in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to assimilate and process data from a wide range of sources.
  • Working knowledge of distribution channels required
  • Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods
  • An analytical mind with strong math skills
  • Excellent oral & written communication skills
