Job Description

About the Role

As a Benefits Lead in the HR function, your main focus will be to develop and implement the benefits strategy for USA and Canada, including Puerto Rico. This role involves designing and managing benefits programs that attract and retain top talent, align with our company's overall strategic goals, and comply with relevant regulations. You play an important part in shaping the overall colleague experience and contributing to our success in attracting and retaining top talent.

This hybrid role reports to our Regional Total Rewards Manager and is based out of the New York City Support Office.

A Day in the Life

Working at H&M means no two days are ever the same, but a typical day will include the following responsibilities*

  • Develop a comprehensive benefits strategy aligned with the organization's business objectives, culture, and talent retention goals

  • Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends and benchmark the company's benefits against competitors

  • Design, implement, and continuously optimize employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, wellness programs, and other programs

  • Ensure benefits offerings are competitive, cost-effective, and meet the diverse needs of the workforce

  • Stay abreast of changes in benefits-related laws and regulations and ensure benefits programs comply with legal requirements and industry standards in the USA, Canada and Puerto Rico

  • Develop and implement governance processes for benefits administration

  • Partner closely with finance and HR to manage the budget for benefits program and implement cost-effective solutions without compromising the quality of benefits offerings

  • Oversee relationships with benefits vendors, brokers, insurance providers, third party plan administrators, and wellness program vendors and negotiate contracts and service agreements to optimize value and ensure service levels are met

  • Develop and execute communication strategies to effectively market benefits offerings and provide accessible education and resources to help colleagues understand and make informed decisions about their benefits

  • Establish initiatives to enhance employee engagement through benefits programs and analyze metrics to ensure data-driven decision-making regarding programs

  • Develop and update benefits policies and procedures in alignment with organizational goals and regulatory requirements

  • Up to 10% domestic and/or international travel may be required

Qualifications

Who You Are:

  • 5-7 years of benefit program management experience including strategy development, plan implementation, and systems knowledge

  • Strong analytical and data interpretation skills

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills

  • Experience with compliance related to employee benefits, including knowledge of labor laws and regulations pertaining to USA, Canada and Puerto Rico desired

  • Demonstrated project management and change management capabilities

Compensation: salary range is $112,811 - $126,912 annually**
