Corporate Development is a highly visible team within the Office of the CEO, with a mandate to identify and pursue strategic business opportunities, mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, partnerships, and JVs that align with McGraw Hill's enterprise strategy.


How can you make an impact?

As the Mergers and Acquisition Manager, you will report directly to the Head of M&A and will be responsible for advancing assigned workstreams within the end-to-end transaction process, from sourcing to post-closing activities. You will work closely with colleagues from business units and corporate functions to articulate business cases, build financial models, support internal decision-making, conduct due diligence, and design integration plans. This role is open to remote candidates located within the United States and preference will be given to qualified candidates physically located in Tampa Bay or Miami, FL. You are expected to work during business hours in Eastern Time Zone and this role requires up to 25% travel for the year.

What you will be doing:

  • Support end-to-end transaction process, including business case development, due diligence, post-closing integration activities, and reporting
  • Lead all aspects of analysis and financial modeling (including scenario analysis, synergies, valuation) in partnership with colleagues from business units and corporate functions (finance, tax, etc.)
  • Conduct landscape/target analysis and present findings/insights to the Head of M&A and Chief Transformation and Strategy Officer
  • Prepare visually and verbally engaging materials that are tailored to the needs of the executive team and the board of directors
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including founders, and executives at companies within the EdTech ecosystem

You should apply if:

  • You have a undergraduate degree in economics, finance, or accounting
  • MBA from a top tier university (preferred)
  • Minimum of 4 years of work experience, with more experienced candidates being considered for entry at higher level
  • You have demonstrated success in high velocity, versatile corporate development or deal advisory (Big4) roles. Mix of M&A (required) and corporate strategy is welcome
  • Highly analytical with strong financial modeling skills, including financial statement reformulation and analysis
  • Strong organizational skills, detail oriented, with the ability to manage high volume of deliverables, multiple projects concurrently, and meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills in crafting reports, reviews, and recommendations that you will present to the Head of M&A and Senior Leadership for consideration and decision making
  • Professional and pro-active in establishing and nurturing strong relationships internally and externally
  • Highly proficient in MS Office, specifically in use of MS Word, MS Excel, and PowerPoint, necessary for the creation of both visually and verbally engaging dashboards, reports, reviews, and recommendations for senior M&A management and collaborating personnel.
  • Experience with Pitchbook, CapIQ, and various data room platforms

The pay range for this position is between $110,000 - $140,000 annually; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location.An annual bonus plan may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical and/or other benefits, depending on the position offered.
