The role ...


In this position, you will report to the Payroll Manager, and you will be responsible for all activities related to the processing of the Company's multi-state bi-weekly payroll and maintain related records. This is a full-time non-exempt hourly position and is located at our Secaucus, NJ corporate headquarters.

Your responsibilities ...

  • Enters, maintains, and/or processes information in the payroll system; information may include commissions, bonuses or other compensation, time worked, paid leave and holidays, deductions and withholding, address changes, taxing jurisdictions and other information
  • Ensures proper processing of payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, and other deductions.
  • Applies for and sets up taxing jurisdictions when establishing employment in a new State
  • Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential
  • Monitors payroll liabilities by reviewing payroll runs to identify any discrepancies
  • Reviews the bi-weekly general ledger interface to identify any discrepancies and advises management accordingly
  • Resolves payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing data to determine corrective action
  • Answers payroll related questions and concerns for employees
  • Facilitates audits by regulatory agencies
  • Issues, or reissues, physical or replacement checks or direct deposits due to payroll errors
  • Undertake the Payroll Manager responsibilities in their absence, including oversight of the payroll process, preparing reports, system maintenance and regulatory compliance
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

You'll have ...

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • A minimum of two years payroll processing experience strong knowledge of payroll procedures including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes
  • Proficient with payroll software. Paylocity experience is strongly preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel
  • Detail oriented, ability to problem solve, maintain confidentiality
  • Strong time management skills with ability to balance and prioritize tasks
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal abilities
