About the role

Covanta Field Services and Transportation Senior Finance Manager

Covanta Central Operations team is looking to hire a Senior Finance Manager to become the Finance business partner for Covanta Field Services VP and Covanta Transportation Senior Director. The successful candidate will be responsible for forecasting, budgeting and optimization of cost, capital expenditures, utilization of Covanta's growing CFS and Transportation Assets/Resources. This position reports operationally to CFS VP and is dotted line to Covanta Transportation Senior Director and Central Ops VP Finance.

The role has aspects of an individual contributor but will also interact with key members of the Operations, Accounting, FP&A, Sourcing, Productivity and Covanta regions. The successful candidate must be a self-starting leader who can work horizontally and can come up with process improvement and efficiencies.

Position Responsibilities:

* Partner with CFS Leadership team and Covanta Productivity leader to reduce the labor cost per hour through various programs and ensure optimum resource utilization.

* Track CFS cost buckets and partner with resource planners, HR and Sourcing to optimize cost.

* Track and forecast outage execution.

* Track Outage cost (capex/opex) including 3rd party and CFS internal labor and compare against forecast and budget.

* Develop trends and projections for Transportation and CFS, conduct reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities.

* Lead yearly budget process and long-term maintenance plan for CFS and Transportation.

* Drive process improvements by maximizing the use of data, ERP systems and the development and monitoring of key metrics applying lean methodology.

* Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures and internal controls.

* Manage CFS billing and ensure cost is billed out on time to the regions.

Education:

B.S. - Accounting, Finance or MBA

Key Requirements:

* B.S. - Accounting, Finance or MBA

* Minimum 7 years of experience

* Experience in the energy space / outage execution

* Sage, Peoplesoft, or similar ERP experience desired

* Hyperion or similar reporting tool experience is a plus

* Proven track record for driving process efficiencies and solving problems

* Excellent communication skills both written and verbal as well as interpersonal skills

* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

* Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
