Job Description
Lead Software Engineer (QBE Insurance Corporation, New York, NY):
Accountable for working with business and IT disciplines to strategize, design, develop, integrate, and deploy QBE’s platforms to enhance business systems that align with strategic direction and roadmap. Drive technology solutions for assigned business systems by assisting stakeholders in defining requirements and opportunities (e.g., eBusiness, online tools, etc.). Deliver features and functions to businesses under the project and production support model. Work with the Principal technologists on upgrading the IT infrastructure to the latest versions so that QBE has the latest and greatest technology infrastructure. Working with the demand and supply to develop work and resource forecasts for the applications delivery support. Manage the continuous improvement of development processes and methodologies. Resolve and escalate issues in alignment with SLA. Effectively hand over application changes and enhancements and provide support as required. Review the design of the other senior members of the team. Perform quality reviews and lead the end-to-end implementation of a solution. Complete impact analysis and ensure quality checks are performed. Define the best practices in the designated technology area. Perform leadership activities, including performance management, mentoring and staff development.
Telecommuting permitted up to 2 days a week.
Full time employment, Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week, to $176,752.00 per year.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer and Information Systems, or related field, and 8 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate related work experience.
Of the required experience, must have 5 years of experience in each of the following:

- Developing client server and N-Tier systems;
- Utilizing Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes;
