It's an exciting time to join IFF as our Director, Global Vanilla Business Development. In this role, you will support our global commercial objectives focusing on Vanilla portfolio development and improvement, while addressing business efficiency, technology, growth and profitability. You will communicate and coordinate activity globally and cross regionally, aligned by natural materials across categories in both flavor and fragrance. You will lead our global vanilla products business including a matrixed group of global and regional representatives from Procurement, Marketing, C&D (creation and design), Innovation, R&D, Pricing, Operations, to support profitable growth. You will own the global vanilla strategy for growth, drive the execution, increase project pipeline, and gain new businesses. You will execute market analysis to understand major market and consumer trends and dynamics, customer needs to identify market opportunities. You will identify and promote current vanilla materials portfolio globally to support business growth.

Job Requirements

We will count on you to...

  • Strengthen relationships with key global and regional customers through regular visits and presentations on vanilla products and capabilities, achieving core list status.
  • Lead the development and execution of the communication plans.
  • Gather and provide commercial and market intelligence inputs for strategy development, prioritization of creative activity, and buying decisions relating to Vanilla products portfolio maintenance and expansion.
  • Work in collaboration with Commercial team, C&D and Procurement to develop and implement both proactive and reactive initiatives to address material shortages and volatile prices to maximize profitability.
  • Utilize information provided by regular market updates from Procurement to develop and communicate actions required to address current sales to key customers who are impacted.
  • Provide support for strategic pricing and profit improvement for vanilla materials.
  • Ensure alignment across operating regions.
  • Drive the Sustainability agenda for vanilla.
Long Description

The role requires...

  • B.S. business, food science, or chemistry degree
  • 10 years relevant experience in commercial, business development, product management, industrial product marketing, management in flavors or food ingredients
  • Knowledge/expertise/experience in vanilla, vanilla products, and dairy market
  • Domestic and International Travel based on business need.
  • Strong customer facing ability and technical understanding.
  • Hands-on and collaborative professional
  • Located in USA or Europe
