What You'll Do:

Manage Logistics Plans. Assemble and actively manage the ever-changing daily logistics plan for assigned territory or region.

Manage Orders. Manage all logistics and material orders to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Procure Carriers. Procure sufficient carriers to fulfill all delivery obligations. Conduct annual carrier meetings.

Maintain Customer Relationships. Sustain appropriate levels of customer contact to ensure exceptional service levels. Visit job sites to interact with customer contacts and carriers. Solicit new orders/business that complement the daily logistics plan.

Communicate with Managers. Preserve proper levels of communication with construction aggregate order management group, sales manager, and operations manager.

Prepare Reports. Prepare and maintain delivery data, reports, and records of daily production orders.

Maintain Process Efficiencies. Maintain and improve process efficiencies. Conduct quarterly quarry reviews with Vulcan stakeholders.

Negotiate. Negotiate rates with carriers and potential dump sites.

Develop Annual Budget. Develop annual territory budget.

Additional Responsibilities. Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Skills You'll Need:

Education. High school degree or its equivalent required. College degree preferred.

Experience. Minimum of three years experience that has included dispatching, customer relations, construction/transportation, administration, or sales is required.

Communication Skills. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to communicate clearly and listen carefully in an open, candid, and consistent manner.

Product Knowledge. Must display knowledge of construction materials and processes, weight and measure laws and regulations, and truck and transportation requirements and regulations. Must have ability to schedule and organize large numbers of people and equipment efficiently and quickly.

Technology Skills. Must display ability to use computers to record information and create reports. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications is a plus. Must be able to use common office tools and technology, such as a cell phone, office telephone, calculator, computer, and other electronic devices.

Time Management Skills. Must be able to maintain a positive attitude with the ability to remain calm and focused in a high stress environment.

Interpersonal Skills. Must have ability to interface with all levels of the vendor organizations and our customers' organizations.

Driving Skills. Must have a valid driver's license and the ability to drive an automobile on a daily basis.
