What impact will you have in this role?

The ideal candidate will be a bold and hard-working consultant who will nurture needs and deliver Microsoft Security solutions for existing and prospective clients. Working with the Business Analysts, sales professionals' practice and client teams to craft, build, coordinate, and implement solutions using Microsoft Security products across M365 and Azure. You should be experienced in articulating architectural designs in written form, with the ability to explain complex concepts in clear, concise form that can be understood by Business collaborators.

What will the Security Pre-Sales Architect be doing day to day in their role?

Microsoft Business Group sellers, Cognizant sellers, client partners and customer relationship managers and Microsoft co-selling to win Microsoft Security work with existing and new customers, both proactive outgoing initiatives and responding to incoming requests, RFPs, ITTs and Frameworks.

A Security sales expert, leading initial engagement with customers to establish their needs, outcomes and how these can best be supported through Microsoft Security and as needed wider Microsoft solutions and creating with MBG Offering Team Industry and cross industry go to market solutions, supporting as the subject matter expert marketing and other promotional campaigns.

Advising customers on the fit of Microsoft Security and the wider Microsoft Cloud Platform to their environment, infrastructure, functional and non-functional needs, and their security and compliance requirements

Work on and support the completion of response to customer demand. These could be a simple and straight forward PoC that requires architectural review, or a complex enterprise architecture.

Have excellent interpersonal skill and be able to thrive in a wide, diverse group of collaborators.

Have experience of taking a concept at enterprise level, create the scope (temporal, financial, resource) and translate this into an executable design that positions us well in the market, using the appropriate levers to deliver a compelling bid.

What experience is needed to succeed?

Must have demonstrated ability in Microsoft stack with strong experience working as a Technical Consultant or Architect in Microsoft Security.

Strong understanding of Microsoft Security and experience of working on full life cycle implementations across multiple product families (Entra, Intune, Defender XDR, Sentinel, Purview, Priva)

Understand customers environment and advise on fit of Microsoft Security to their needs including integration with third party systems.

  • Record of successful implementations MS Security Products, functional experience in at least most areas of Entra, Intune, Defender XDR, Sentinel, Purview, Priva
  • Experience in industry solutions / accelerators development / automations/ innovative solutions extending or adding new value to Microsoft Security products
  • Experience of implementations from requirements gathering until release including post release support / Application Support & Maintenance experience.
  • Excellent communications, documentation and presentation skills.
  • Exposure in presales, deal shaping etc.
  • Curiosity, especially around emerging enterprise technologies
  • Leading a team, project planning, estimations.
  • Must have knowledge in Implementation of Sure Step and Agile methodologies.
  • Must have strong client facing experience.
  • Understanding of solution architecture and fit of Microsoft Security solutions within customers target environment
  • Ability to lead response to clients such as RFP's etc.
  • Ability to take an aspirational design and turn it into an executable design
  • Experienced in Security Operations and the needs of the modern SOC
  • Experience with onsite/offshore delivery models
  • Experience with defined security frameworks and benchmarks (NIST, MITRE, CIS etc)
  • Strong client facing communication skills
  • Experienced providing Pre-Sales demonstrations.

Good experience and knowledge of:

  • Microsoft Azure
  • M365
  • Endpoint Manager
  • Security toolsets (Entra, Intune, Defender XDR, Sentinel, Purview, Priva)
  • Gen AI and Co-Pilot

Should Have

  • Authored implementation / application support specific documentations, Whitepapers on industry solutions / accelerators / thought leadership on Microsoft Security
  • Experience with integration between Microsoft and third-party security tooling
  • Security domain background & certifications
  • Ability to analyze and effectively solution business and technical problems.
  • KQL/Python Knowledge and common technical base knowledge.
  • Experience in Azure and M365 design and deployment.

What education and certification credentials are needed for this role?

  • CIS, MIS, etc. Degree or equivalent training or experience
  • Certified in an Agile methodology
  • Security certification (preferably Microsoft Cybersecurity Architect SC-100) is highly desirable

Does the role require travel?

We encourage our team members to meet with our customers in person for at least 20% of the time they are working together. Sometimes this requires travel outside of normal working hours.

The annual salary for this position is between $180,000 - 200,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
