Job Summary:

The L&D Learning Consultant III is responsible for the development and delivery of curriculum with a focus on leadership. The L & D Learning consultant plays a crucial role in the design and the delivery of Horizon's Talent And Development Division's Leadership programming.
  • Design, develop and deliver HR leadership programs to a variety of levels using multiple instructional techniques and formats such as role-playing, simulations, team exercises, group discussions, videos and lectures. Ensure course excellence in design and delivery.
  • Conduct needs analysis, learner analysis and task analysis to identify specific learning requirements; Conduct employee surveys and interviews.
  • Design and implement utilization and training metrics for purposes of training effectiveness, benchmarking, and managerial reporting.
  • Coordinate overall program delivery of both in-person and virtual training from internal and external training resources; assist in the managing of the training program calendar; manage vendor relationships on an ongoing basis.
  • Act as internal learning and development consultant for Horizon's different business divisions on all leadership learning inquires and development strategies.
  • Instruct employee training sessions and Horizon's on-site New Employee Orientation onboarding program for all new hires.
  • Maintain a database of all training materials

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in education, business, human resources, information technology, or related field preferred, or relevant work experience in lieu of degree.
  • Eight (8) to ten (10) years previous experience as a trainer, corporate training specialist, or related position.
  • Working knowledge of current leadership principles and approaches
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Working knowledge of adult education principles.
  • Experience with technologies and best practices for instructional materials and teaching platforms.
  • Experience with Workday and instructional software preferred.
  • DISC certification and other psychometric tools preferred.
  • Project management skills with the ability to supervise multiple projects.
  • Good interpersonal skills with all levels of management.
  • Able to analyze problems and strategize for better solutions.

Additional licensing, certifications, registrations:

  • Industry recognized learning and development or training certification is preferred but not required


Knowledge:

  • Adult learning and training techniques and organizational development strategies.
  • Education and training principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups and the measurement of training effects.
  • Human behavior and performance management, learning and motivation principles and techniques.
  • Principles and processes for providing customer service. This includes customer needs assessment and evaluation of customer satisfaction.


Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Enthusiastic, well prepared, and organized
  • Ability to utilize a variety of learning techniques and support materials to accentuate presentations and facilitate the learning process.
  • Effective delivery skills, e.g. eye contact, voice intonation, various questioning techniques, etc.
  • Ability to operate a computer and its peripheral equipment (printers, keyboard, mouse, etc.).
  • Prefer proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project management software and Lotus Notes.


Travel (If Applicable):

  • Local travel under 10%

Salary Range:

$94,900 - $129,570

This compensation range is specific to the job level and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to: education, experience, licensure, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. This range has been created in good faith based on information known to Horizon at the time of posting. Compensation decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each case.
