Job Description

The Balance Sheet Mgmt Sr Ld Anlst is a strategic professional who closely follows latest trends in own field and adapts them for application within own job and the business. Typically a small number of people within the business that provide the same level of expertise. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. Accountable for significant direct business results or authoritative advice regarding the operations of the business. Necessitates a degree of responsibility over technical strategy. Primarily affects a sub-function. Responsible for handling staff management issues, including resource management and allocation of work within the team/project.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare or assist in the preparation of materials for senior managers, Board of Directors, and regulators of CBNA and its U.S. bank charter subsidiaries, including CBNAs Asset and Liability Management Committee (ALCO) and other relevant forums.
  • Participate in managing capital/legal entity structure and capital planning, interest rate risk and liquidity.
  • Collaborate across Finance to assist with compilation of the Comprehensive Capital Analysis & Review (CCAR) / Dodd Frank Act Stress Test (DFAST) process which includes forecast of balance sheet lines, liquidity and capital ratios in various stress scenarios.
  • Manage communication, procedures, and training related to U.S. bank dividend permissibility regulations.
  • Collaborate with Treasury Asset/Liability Management to edit and maintain the CBNA Capital Procedure in order to maintain compliance with regulations and planning considerations.
  • Collaborate with FP&A, Capital Planning and others to create balance sheet forecasts for CBNA considering the impact of business activity on capital adequacy, interest rate risk, liquidity and net interest margin.
  • Coordinate with country treasurers and other legal entity treasurers and managers on balance sheet optimization and forecasting for bank entities, including the allocation of assets and deposit targets and return of capital.
  • The position will require both individual analytical work as well as partnership across teams to identify solutions to business inquiries in a timely manner and own the implementation / execution steps to autonomously drive open issues to completion.
  • Influence project prioritization, platform direction, and future state planning and strategic direction.
  • Exposure into various facets of Risk and Finance Processes within Citi; interacting with various levels within the organization.
  • Performs other duties and functions as assigned
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

  • 10 plus years of experience working for a financial services organization with direct experience managing bank capital policy and performance
  • Thorough knowledge of Balance Sheet and Bank Capital Management including Basel capital requirements and stress testing requirements
  • Familiarity with key Interest Rate Risk metrics (Net Interest Income Sensitivity and Economic Value Sensitivity), working knowledge of firm wide financial reporting systems, data warehouses, etc.
  • Experience with effectively analyzing Actual and Forecast results with a comprehensive knowledge of Transfer Pricing and other Intercompany items
  • Developed skill base with respect to preparing presentations to senior management
  • Demonstrated ability to concisely communicate analytical objectives, observations and relevance of findings across the organization in written, visual (graphical) and verbal form
  • Collaborative and leadership orientation along with desire to interact with colleagues at all levels
  • Proficiency with standard analysis tools (Excel / Access / SQL)
  • Excellent written and oral communication
  • Demonstrates thorough knowledge of Bank Balance Sheet and P&L fundamentals.

Education:

  • Bachelors degree
  • MBA with Finance concentration or other advanced quantitative degree strongly preferred

$176,720.00 - $265,080.00
