Geosyntec has an exciting opportunity for a Principal / Senior Principal - Sediment Remediation (PE or PG) to help manage and grow our sediment and waterfront redevelopment practice in the mid-Atlantic Region through their aptitude in people and project management, commitment to technical excellence and experience with sediment remediation projects. This position could be based out of any one of our Pennington, NJ, Lyndhurst, NJ, or Blue Bell, PA offices, however for an experienced practitioner we're able to consider fully remote working.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
    Business development; including bringing in new clients and obtaining repeat business from existing clients, leading proposal preparation, and developing and implementing a business development plan;
  • Task and project management, including planning and implementing investigation and remediation projects, budgeting and budget management, adherence to schedule, quality, client satisfaction, and profitability;
  • Engineering analysis, design, and cost estimating for sediment remediation projects;
  • Management and mentoring of junior staff and managing subcontractors;
  • Work plan development, data evaluation, and report writing;
  • Preparing technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals;
  • Reviewing and managing written document production;
  • Preparing for and participating in meetings with clients, regulatory personnel, and other parties; and
  • At times, job may also include fieldwork including multi-media environmental sampling, sediment sampling and characterization, drilling oversight, contractor oversight, and remediation system operations, maintenance, and construction.
Education and Licensure
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (civil, chemical or environmental preferred), Geology or related field of study. (required)
  • Advanced degree the same. (preferred)
  • Professional registration (i.e., P.E. or P.G.). (required)
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
  • At least 10 years (15+ preferred) of direct environmental consulting experience in the sediment remediation marketplace; or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
  • Detailed understanding of CERCLA and other applicable state regulations. (required)
  • Experience with multi-disciplinary project teams. (required)
  • Demonstrated success in the development and management of clients. (required)
  • Excellent leadership skills. (required)
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed. (required)
  • Current OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training and refreshers. (preferred)
  • Ability and willingness to perform fieldwork and travel. (required)
  • Valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
