Marcum LLP Paralegal Responsibilities:

Litigation:

  • Assist with discovery tasks, subpoenas and document production;
  • Assist with preparation and distribution of litigation related communications and documents (e.g., litigation holds and discovery-related materials);
  • Maintain updated internal litigation tracker and manage case files;
  • Coordinate with insurance carriers on reporting matters; and
  • Work with firm stakeholders on firm licensing and other regulatory reporting (e.g., state licensing, renewals).

Corporate:

  • Responsible for partnership legal entity management;
  • Research corporate legal entity filings and legal identities and status, and state and federal regulatory guidelines;
  • Assist with M&A transactions (acquisitions and divestitures) including coordinating due diligence and document execution;
  • With minimal supervision, administer the collection, categorization, organization, review and analysis of due diligence documents and information;
  • Assist with individual partner entity ongoing maintenance, dissolution and administration matters including developing excel spreadsheets;
  • Coordinate on partnership related matters including preparation and execution of joinders and other partnership related administration; and
  • Assist with regulatory and other legal reporting relating to Marcum's credit facilities.

Commercial:

  • Review and redline legal contracts including confidentiality/non-disclosure agreements, release/access letters and other commercial agreements; and
  • Review and coordinate client and vendor commercial due diligence related matters.

Other:

  • Ad hoc administrative responsibilities;
  • Assist counsel and coordinate with IT on technology-related issues (e.g., develop intranet site, contract in-take and document management repositories, engagement letter tools etc.)
  • Assist counsel with the development of firm policies and coordinate OGC firm communications.

As in-person collaboration is of critical importance to the functioning of the Marcum OGC, this is an in-office role working out of our NYC or Melville office Monday through Thursday.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree;
  • Certificate in paralegal studies required;
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a litigation and/or corporate transactional paralegal;
  • Must be a self-starter and work well under pressure;
  • Must be proactive and able to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment handling multiple tasks at the same time;
  • Ability to prioritize, troubleshoot complex problems and provide solutions;
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills and high attention to details;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal;
  • A can-do attitude;
  • Experience with contract drafting (e.g., NDAs and MSAs) strongly preferred;
  • Experience with legal technology tools including subpoena and e-discovery, contract management and ticketing systems is a plus;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint and other technology tools.

Compensation Range

Salary: $75,000.00 - $100,000.00
