Job Description
AllianceBernstein L.P. seeks Quantitative Research Associate in New York, NY to conduct quantitative research on financial assets using large domain-specific data sets to model risk and return potential and uncover signals to be used as inputs to investment decision making. Model asset pricing impacts from changes in the relevant environment, such as shifting interest rates or changes to company-specific growth prospects. Run back tests of investment signals to determine the efficacy of new ideas. Work with other research analysts and portfolio managers within the firm to improve the appropriateness of research and impact of findings. Present findings to senior portfolio managers and motivate for changes to existing approaches. Write code to automate the modelling task including writing appropriate quality controls. Work with the technology team to production Alize research code. Validate and check any implementations. Prepare data, presentations, and documents in support of client servicing. Must be available to work in office 3 days per week. Working from home permissible 2 days per week.
REQUIREMENTS: Master’s degree or foreign degree equivalent in Finance, Economics, Math or other STEM degree and six months (06) of experience in the job offered or related role.
Skills: Experience and/or education must include:
- Knowledge of different asset classes and markets;
- An algorithmic programming language such as Python, Matlab or R;
- Database programming language, such as T-SQL;
- Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word and Powerpoint;
- Working with large datasets and optimizing code to interrogate this data; and
- Modelling financial assets and/or macro-economic factors
LOCATION: 1345 Avenue of The Americas, New York, NY 10105; Must be available to work in office 3 days per week. Working from home permissible 2 days per week.
