New York Life's primary distribution channel is the career Agency sales force of more than 12,000 agents, operating in virtually every major city in the United States. Every agent is affiliated with one of our General Offices. These offices are operated by Agency management teams responsible for agent and management recruiting, development, and sales. Approximately half our agents operate their businesses out of our General Offices, while the other half maintains independent office locations.

Our General Offices are divided up among four Zones. In addition to our Zone offices, an Agency Home Office team responsible for strategy, finance, administration, standards, training, marketing, and communications supports our agents and field managers. The Agency operation also comprises teams charged with growing our business in key market segments, including the middle-income market, the advanced (high-net-worth) market, and select target markets. Agents sell individual life insurance, individual annuities, and long-term care insurance products, as well as mutual funds.

Role Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Innovation Product Manager to join our dynamic team and play a pivotal role in the development and success of our digital products. As a senior leader, you will be responsible for the entire product lifecycle, from conception and strategy to execution and launch. You will be a champion for the user, ensuring their needs are at the forefront of every decision.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive product strategy and roadmap, aligning with business goals and user needs.
  • Conduct thorough market research and user analysis to identify opportunities, define product requirements, and prioritize features.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, engineering, marketing, and sales, to ensure seamless product development and launch.
  • Develop and manage product backlogs, prioritizing features and user stories based on data and user feedback.
  • Own the product vision and roadmap, effectively communicating it to stakeholders and securing buy-in.
  • Lead user experience (UX) research and testing, ensuring a user-centric approach throughout the product development process.
  • Monitor and analyze product performance metrics, using data to inform future product decisions and iterate on existing features.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices, continuously seeking ways to improve and innovate our digital products.
  • Mentor and develop junior product managers, fostering a collaborative and learning-oriented team environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree (industrial design, user-centered design, visual design, design strategy, design management, human factors, psychology, human-computer interaction, etc.) and/or equivalent experience.
  • Must have 10+ years of industry related experience, 5 of which should relate to product management, design, or business facing product development.
  • SFDC and GEN AI ecosystem subject matter expert.
  • Deep experience in asset management or wealth management a plus.
  • Fluency in technical delivery a plus.
  • Strong organization and collaboration skills required.
  • Strong strategic thinking skills required.
  • Exceptional senior-level communication skills required.
