Position Summary
The Department of Surgery is looking for Technician A in the Sugahara lab in the Division of GI/Endocrine Surgery. The individual will work closely with Principle Investigator and Post-Doctoral Researchers on research projects focused on novel cancer therapies based on tumor targeting peptides.
Responsibilities
Under supervision and training, with graduating independence to develop the ability to work in:
- Mouse handling and husbandry and genotyping
- Basic molecular and cellular biology
- Tissue isolation/processing, immunohistochemistry and tissue culture.
- Data processing and analysis
- Preparing lab solutions and cultures
- Other duties necessary to the functioning of the laboratory, research project or work unit
Minimum Qualifications
- Two years of college or a completed A.A. program with an emphasis in chemistry, biology or physics or a completed animal husbandry program.
- One year of related experience, or equivalent in education, training and/or experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with chemistry, biology terminology and techniques
- Laboratory experience in molecular biology/biochemistry
